The Original Stash Cache Race!
Little Green Famgeo Racer, Blue Dino Racer and Over the Rusty Road Racer are prepped and ready to go on their cross country road race.
Our goal is to travel to Maine to see the Quoddy Head Lighthouse (Quoddy Quandry-GC8A65) and back to the Original Stash Tribute Plaque (GCGVOP). Any route is acceptable so long as it advances our cause.
This is a family competition so you know how important it is. The winner will be crowned family Geocacher of the year, with all bragging rights.
Updated June 14, 2010. There have been some unfortunate developments. Mine is the only car left in the race. My brother's car-the Little Green Famgeo Racer, #TBYTBJ, was muggled and not retrieved. My Mom's car-Over the Rusty Road, #TBYZ1T, was last seen in Maine in May, 2007. Mom has since passed away and we have not sidelined it. I'm continuing the race myself to honor my mom's memory since it was really her idea of a fun project with the grandkids.

Hey! Just realized the racer has made it to the Quoddy Head lighthouse! I thought the little guy was gone for sure, but he's been at Quoddy Head all this time! If any geocachers happen to see the racer when visiting the lighthouse, I would super appreciate moving him along and getting him back to Oregon! And thanks a bunch to all of the geocachers who have been so wonderful to get my racer half way to his round trip destination! I appreciate all the help and work that all of the wonderful geocaching community has put into the spirit of the game to help my little car get around!

Good Morning!
So glad that this cache aligned with the previous. I actually had some locals go and create a new one just so that we could get the racer going again.
Thanks for the patience... and good luck!
I will add the pics the Coast Guard team provided when they visited the light.

Found this at Quoddy today! I grabbed it, and will be taking it 7 hours west and dropping it off in Vermont next week!

Thanks so much for the update! After so long with no sightings, I thought all might be lost. We're still in it, woohoo!

Good Morning/Afternoon,
I had a little trouble getting this to the Rockland cache from my previous note. Your racer stayed in Portland with the transporter, so I retrieved it and sought out a better helper.
On a good note, it will finally make it to Quoddy Light next week. I will post once it is there. Sorry for the delay.

Oh, thank you so much for the update, I had thought the game was over! He's not lost, that's all that matters, since our other 2 cars have been lost. It's been so fun to see where this little car has been, he's traveled further than I have, that's for sure! I appreciate the effort to get my little car closer to the lighthouse, he's just got to keep going!😁

After much delay...and I do apologize, the Blue Dino Racer is heading to Rockland, ME. It should arrive by this afternoon and if by the grace of god, make its way to the lighthouse. A friend lives up in Maine and is more than willing to drop him off at a travel bug hotel in Rockland. Good bye little Dino Racer and safe travels to the light.

Well I went through the log for the TB and unfortunately it never made it up to it's destination before coming all the way back to CT. So I will at least make an attempt to get it heading back up to the light house. In the mean time the Dino Racer and I enjoyed a screening of Cars following his retrieval from Rocky's Pancreas.
