Current Goal

Big bugs are hard enough to move, so there is no destination mission. However, if you know how to play the trumpet and have your own mouthpiece, plug it in, play a tune, and tell us what you played. I haven't played the trumpet much since high school, but I can still play the James Bond Theme.

About This Item

"Playin in a travelin' band"

It's big, it's brass, and as of the moment I dropped it in a cache, it still works. I picked up this junk horn a couple of years ago at a yard sale (I am a music teacher), but I haven't had much use for it. It works, but it needs a mouthpiece (I couldn't spare one), and by the time it gets to you it will need a little valve oil if you intend to play it. I doubt you'll ever find a cache big enough to put it in, so just find a cache that is in a somewhat remote place where a civilian won't stumble upon it and put the trumpet near it, beside it, or under it.

We were rooting through the cache when I noticed the corner of a bag poking out. I uncovered and noticed a ...trumpet? What in the world is a ...ohhhhh. We laughed when we figured it out. Its seen better days so we will get it cleaned up and replace the TB chain (its rusted through). The next thing will be to figure out where to put it, but we will try to get it on the road as soon as we can.

As I am a band director myself, I had to try for this TB. I'll take it to camp with me and let the kids give it a whirl. Then comes the challange of getting it back out there. I do love a challange.
