Once upon a time, an avid geocacher, stranded upon a island, thought to himself, I would love to sail the high seas, make friends, and have adventures the world over geocaching.
So off to the West Coast Yacht Club shop.
After much pondering, settled on a 26 fter.
The yacht was not sea worthy, so it was placed in drydock.
After mending the rigging mast, the excitment was begining to build.
At KA MO'Nui the yacht was christened as "The Menehume Sailboat".
The adventure begins.
Hi ho, onto the open seas, but, high winds start to create havoc, send the menehume sailboast back towards the island, landing at "A'AMA CRAB".
Waiting patiently for a break in the weather, the rigging is repaired again, and another attempt is made to sail away.
As they circle the north east point of the island, the sailboat is once again sent into Haleiwa harbour the "NORTH SHORE IKI".
Will we ever get off this island and begin our exploration of the world of geocaches?
The swells of the 30ft waves, a delight to the surfers, subsides, and the menehume sailboat once again make a run for it, only to be sent back to shore at "PAPALE".
Ok, now the day is almost spent, the sun is setting in the west, sailboat and geoache owner disappointed, load "The menehume Sailboat" on the trailer, and park it at a fellow geocacher, in the WAI'ANAE VALLEY BUG JAR".
Will return soon to make the escape from this island say the geocacher.
Arriving out of the west, the pirates, namely J-trek and N-trek, from the Geo-trekkers-6, make tracks onto the shore, captured " The Menhume Sailboat".
Under the cover of Haiwaian Airlines the sailboat was suitcased off to Seattle Washington. During the wee hours of the night the Sailboat was trucked across the 49 th parralel.
The Geo-trekkers-6, attempted to cache in/out, it but with out proper documents, no buyers.
Feelings of guilt, setting in, by their piratecy act, the Geo-trekker-6 set out to correct the wrong.
They took the Sailboat to the city of Vancouver, the site of the 2010 Winter Oylimpics Games, and gave it a royal tour.
At the entrance to the port of Vancouver- Burrand Inlet sits the Point Atkinson Lighthouse, Vancouvers version of the Statue of Liberty.
Spent some time hangin out at the West Vancouver Thunderbird marina with my feloow yachts.
The photo energetic sailboat had his pics taken with the Lions gate Bridge, and the City of Vancouver in the distance.
From the waters edge, up the mountain, to have an areial view of the city, but the fog had rolled in.
We love rain in this country!!!
The menhume sailboat is shown out of its elements, sitting in the snow, but its location is " ON TOP OF THE WORLD!"
So long, farwell. May the forces of anothe cacher be with you soon.
