Current Goal

Well this TB's goal ended a short time after he was relaesed. He made it to NJ and was muggled. I really didn't think the ring would last to long before someone took it.

UPdate  TB found and still the ring attached. A Boy Scout Group found it on thier first cache to earn a badge. Since it had never reached it's goal they sought out, from their group of friends, someone who was going to Ireland. They friends too it to Cork and indeed it touched the Balrney Stone! Nw it has returned to me in Georgia and soon to my son.

Thank those Scouts for finding and having it complete it's mission 14 years after it started.

About This Item

Ring of Tears

It's goal is to return to Ireland and "kiss" the Blarney Stone. Then return to Georgia with the ability to influence and coax with fair words and soft speech without giving offense, or the gift of gab. Click here to read see the Blarney stone and read about the legend... Blarney Stone
This ring was my wedding ring. We got the rings in Galway Ireland at Claddagh Jewellers. The legend of the Claddagh depicts two hands clutching a heart, complete with a crown, epitomises the expression of lasting love and eternal friendship. The heart symbolises love, the hands friendship and the crown loyalty and fidelity.

Well unfortunatly the friendship love and fidelity didn't last. SO please help this ring of tears, become a ring of cheers again. It has been tainted so to cleanse it it needs to return to Ireland and kiss the Blarney Stone. Whatever you can do to get it closer to it's goal will help. Please help this ring of Tears turn into a ring of Cheers. Once cleansed please send it back to Georgia. I'll pick it up again and give it to my son for a keepsake. The divorce is final Dec 22, 2003 lets see if this can be done by Dec 22, 2005.

My nine-year old son just learned about Geocaching this past Friday evening at a Cub Scout Pack Night.

Off course right after the meeting, which ended at 8:00 PM – EST, he was super excited about venturing out to geocache! We ended up going this past Saturday afternoon right after soccer practice to two different spots, however, it was raining, and we did not have much luck.

On Sunday afternoon, after his travel soccer game (the kids tied 3-3), we met up with two of his buddies at the park, who were practicing archery. We stayed at the park for a few hours and then I took the three boys geocaching (they are all in the cub scouts) – two at the bear rank and the other boy I believe is a Webelos.

In any case, we ended up in Baldwin, New York, on Atlantic Avenue, and they located their very first Geocache (GC2WEX5). Long and behold, we located your trackable along with the Celtic ring and the laminated document. We tried to log it in as a found item at the time, however, it appears that the trackable was no longer active as it was thought someone did not keep the trackable going.

In doing further readings on it, it appears that the ring has traveled around the world, landing in Germany, China, Austria, Canada, Ireland and possibly some other places which I cannot recall off the top of my head.

In reading your story, we figured the owner (GA Cacher) would like to be reunited with his ring, Geocache Trackable dog tag, and laminated document to pass onto his son sooner than later.

We sent a message and connected with him.

The ring is on it's way back to Ireland with a gentleman who has committed to bringing the ring to the Blarney Stone at the castle.

We have asked permission from the owner to hold onto the ring to show to the rest of the den at Pack 206 in Merrick, New York the amazing trackable the boys located once it comes back from Ireland.

Again, this was an exciting find as it was the boys FIRST find :)
