Rapid Prototyping

new: hop from cache to cache. make photos from cool tech stuff!

old: "travel as exact as possible 1 second in the speed of light. that means: 299792.4 kilometers, or 186282.3 miles."

History:

this travelbug originated from the austrian travel-bug-race 2007 called "austrian stardust 2007" with the name "Speed of Light" (link)

then it continued its journey at the austrian travel-bug-race 2009 called "austrian stardust'09 - the orbit race", still as "Speed of Light" (link)

after some weeks the original travelbug disappeared somewhere. therefor i reloaded it, and used the opportunity to give it a new - fitting - mission to complete: to travel as far as light can do in 1 second of time. (hard challenge, but someone had to start it ;-).

unfortunately, after only a few kilometers it disappeared again. probably the challenge was too hard in the end or the marketing-concept was too bad. we'll never know. so the new travelbug had to be somehow different. now it goes under the name of "Rapid Prototyping".

a process... blah blah blah.. 3D-Printer ... blah blah.. Happylab in Vienna ... blah blah blah... is produced in one step ... blah blah .. can rotate... blah.

the current mission is: travel as far as light can do in 1 second of time.

in numbers that would be: 299792.4 kilometers or 186282.3 miles.

because that are a lot of footsteps it has to travel, that will take some time. until then i will think of a nice reward for the first one, who is able to move it as near as possible to that distance. (-1, +3km counts)

there are also some other goals in between the travel bug can reach, for example:

• distance, sound (at sea level) would travel in 1 minute:  20,4km
• distance, sound (at sea level) would travel in 1 hour:  1225km
