Attended my 6th cito this morning, the 36th Southern Arizona Geocachers Alamo Wash CITO, along with Chester the dog. The temps warmed to 95 before we were done. A huge pile of trash was removed from the wash including a buried shopping cart. A Boy Scout led the event and handed out paracord keychains as gifts at the end that he had made. Donuts were the treat of the morning and Chester was just dying for one but controlled himself well. We finally gave him a small bit and he sat and 'waited' for over two minutes before being allowed to eat the morsel. Met some new, to me, geocachers, and chatted with old friends. Enjoyed the shade in a treed areas. Felt good to give back to the community. The wash was in bad shape from the recent summer storms too, but was looking good when we were done. We took the traditional group photo at the sign and then back to the cars for the passing of the bull. The bull statue was found in the wash on the very first event. It was placed into a case and is now handed from host to host at the end of each event. The current host gets to add a trinket to personalize the bull so it's a pretty interesting item at this point! Oh, and I managed to get a not so great shot of the local fire department down the hill where I live!
