  • In front of California's Capitol Building My wife and I picked up this bug on our way from Lompoc to Sacramento.  Here we are, standing in front of California's State Capitol Building in Sacramento, holding the bug.  Later this same evening, we deposited this bug in a nearby cache.

We retrieved High Flyin' Kiowa from TOTW today and read that it wants to take a bird's eye view of the world. Well lo and behold it landed on our birdbath on our deck in Atascadero. We'll let it get aquainted with the sparrows, doves, pidgeons and wrens for a day or two before sending it on it's way.

  • No birds but look at this cool pond! It doesn't pay to grouse about it but sitting on a birdbath is nothing to crow about. This swift Kiowa wants to goose the throttle and get the hawk out of here. Waiting here is for the birds.
