Current Goal

I want to get lost! I figured it was a matter of time anyway, so why not?

About This Item

Is it missing yet?

Many bugs never reach their goal. Along the way, no matter how thoughtful it's finders are, TBs inevitably go missing. It happens more often then we may be willing to admit.

Over the months, a most of my travel bugs have gone missing. And I'm still waiting to confirm that a number of the remaining ones have vanished. One of them only lasted three months. I've heard, however, that many bugs' lifespans have been far shorter. A surprisingly low number actually reach their goal. So, when I decided to release another TB, I decided to guarantee that it would reach it's goal. How could I do that? It's simple. I just set a goal that I KNOW it can't fail. I want this travel bug to get lost.

That's right. The goal of this TB is to make it's way into the wild world of geocaching and eventually end up missing somewhere in the void.

How will it achieve this goal? I predict it will be one of the following ways:

- The cache it is in will be taken.
- A cacher will pick it up and keep it for all eternity.
- It will disappear from a cache with no notice.
- It will be taken to an event and not claimed.
- Somebody will log it into the wrong cache.
- It will be moved to a remote cache, which will then be archived.

Did I miss any? Please help speed this bug along toward it's ultimate demise, wherever and whenever that may be. To facilitate this, the TB has been released with no information sheet attached, but feel free to add one if you want to.

Since this cache is named The Lost Cache, Rich from thelawsons04 thought it appropriate to drop A Matter of Time TB - its owner knows that it's only a matter of time before most travel bugs end up lost, so that's its mission.

Grab It (Not from a Cache) 3/26/2006 hb'sbear04 grabbed it   Visit Log

Looks like this bug isn't gone for good just yet... I'm guessing it's been passed around a little and just not logged in keeping with the spirit of this bug's mission. Just wanted to let you know he hasn't completed the mission yet... found him safely in the Fannin Cottin Gin cache yesterday, so we picked him up. Sir Zargon had been there the day before, so maybe that's how he made it to Fannin?

We're headed to Vicksburg this week - maybe we'll drop him in Soldier's Rest... I think one of our bugs vanished from there.

Can it be that this one disappeared after a journey of only 1.9 miles? Has it reached it's goal already? I wonder if that's some sort of record for shortest non-zero distance traveled by a TB during it's lifetime. Woo Hoo😛!
