Current Goal

Party!!

Take me to a location where I can taste a new flavor of beer with geocachers.

About This Item

The group and the TB's

My desire is to be transported from location to location with geocachers who are willing to take my picture with a new beer. I was created after a beer event in Tucson Arizona. Four caching teams came together to create me on 9/24/05.

Sonorion, FeetFirst, Sneakie Kittie and ShadowAce all got together and had a wonderful time making a challenge of tasting all the beers available during a beer event.

We have decided that this cup and coin which were part of the event, needs to travel around the world and see how many beers we missed. Did we miss the one you selected? Well we wont give the list of all we drank, instead we ask that you list and photograph the beer you had while thinking of our fun group in the desert of Arizona.

Let us know what you think of what you found and we will be honored to watch this list.

As a Boy Scout Unit, our drinking is somewhat limited... but we are a creative bunch and to keep in spirit with the Beer sampling, we added our own earthy flavor. Pictured here is our Troop Mascot, Nubis, enjoying some A&W Root Beer.

 • Bottoms up! Nubis enjoys a more earthy flavored beer.. known as Root Beer!

Grabbed this travel bug from AZcachemeister. I brought home two more bottles to try, so we went for Round 3. This time I had the imported German ale, Salvator Double Bock and he had a Belgian-style ale, Rare Vos. I tasted all of the ales and my favorites were Salvator and Monty Python's Holy (Gr)Ail. Even Kenni, the cockatoo wanted to have a sip. p.s.I snuck in a bottle of Fat Tire in the credits below.

 • Round 3 with Salvator Ale and Rare Vos Ale
 • Salvator Ale imported from Germany Salvator.
Bottle. Poured a nice bold copper color, cloudy with a decent tan head. The aroma was a nice blend of malt, apple cider and apricot. The flavor was rich with apricot, caramel, yeasty bread, and malt with a bit of a bitter finish. Very complex, very nice. Nice and full bodied on the palate, well textured. Great beer for the fall, I enjoyed it.
 • Rare Vos Belgian-Style Ale Rare Vos.
Amber hued. Pours with a creamy head. Floral, fruity, orange and rind nose. Clean caramel malt with dry fruity, herbal and spice elements offer a great sophistication and balance. This complex, moderately full-bodied beer has a smooth and seamless finish.
 • Fat Tire Fat Tire.
Like the ageless delight of pedaling a bicycle, Fat Tire Amber Ale's appeal is in its feat of balance: Toasty malt flavors (sorta like biscuits just pulled from the oven coasting in equilibrium with crisp hoppiness.

Well I guess it's time to post some pictures!
Having seen too many TBs with photo requests, but no photos in the logs, I'm hoping this little album will provide a standard for others to go by.

 • Round One! Sam Adams Octoberfest and Arrogant Bastard Ale by Stone
Brewing Company
 • Round Two! Holy Grail Ale by Black Sheep Brewing and Hobgoblin by Wychwood Brewery
 • Samuel Adams Octoberfest The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams Octoberfest provides
 • Arrogant Bastard Ale by Stone Brewing Co. This is an aggressive beer. You probably won't like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.
 • Holy Grail Ale by Black Sheep Brewery Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.
 • Hobgoblin by Wychwood Brewery Bottle pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Very pleasing to the nose. Mix of fruit, malt, caramel, and a hint of nut and chocolate. I loved the first mouthful of this beer. Very complex taste, pleasing mouth-feel. It’s faily sweet but unbalanced. The bitter doesn’t come until long after you swallow.

1325 Hrs. A beer festival in Tucson? A beer festival in Tucson that I didn't know about? A beer festival in Tucson, attended by a bunch of my friends, who had an extra ticket, and I didn't know about it? Appalling. 👎 Well at least I got a TB out of the deal! 😁
