About This Item

Don't even think of Geocaching

My name is Catherine.  I am married to a Geocacher.  My husband started Geocaching on Valentines Day 2007, how romantic!

Before he started Geocaching we used to go to the seaside and walk along the prom.  We used to go to the cinema and see the latest films.  He used to take me to the supermarket every week.  He used to wash the car and tend to the garden.  But all this has stopped.

And the reason... Geocaching.

Now he sits up late at night on the computer, printing out endless sheets of paper, planning where he's going the next day.  So now we drive for miles on twisty country roads and walk over bleak barren moors in the freezing cold wind and rain.  Trudge along muddy paths and through wet boggy marsh land all in the name of Geocaching.

And what for?.... Some silly stuffed toy or plastic item attached to a chain with a code number on it, hidden in a plastic sandwich box out on the moors!  Or worse still a 35mm film canister with a bit of rolled up paper and the smallest pencil in the world inside it!

And now he buys me my own Geocoin!  Thanks!

So this coin is dedicated to all those Geocaching Widows out there, whose life has been turned upside down by this crazy hobby.

For those of you who are thinking about Geocaching, please DON'T.
