About This Item

Sundance is a sundial consisting of a thin ring which is its own gnomon. A single hole in the ring allows sunlight to fall on the inner surface to read the time. Sundance wants to see the daylight as often as possible. Hold it in your hand and it is going to dance in the sun.

A special day for the Secret Lake as this cache is up and running again and visited by 4 people at 3 am! A special day for Sundance: dropped off at night: who is going to expose this beautiful historic ring to the sunlight again. No hurry, it's been around since 1721, so it will last a bit longer.
