The mission of this Travel Bug is simple: To win the Great Amarillo International Travel Bug Race 2008! The 2007 winner logged over 20,000 miles in one year, so let's run up the miles on this slick ice resurfacer.
This silver Zamboni has been seen resurfacing the ice at the Cal Farley Coluseum "The Jungle" in Amarillo, during Amarillo Gorillas hockey games on Friday & Saturday nights. This replica hopes to continue this tradition of smoothing out the ice near ice venues around the world, and in the process winning the Great Amarillo International Travel Bug Race 2008! The race will be starting on March 1st, 2008 with many Travel Bugs from the Amarillo, TX area. Let's move this slick mobile to the front of the race! Please place in geocaches that get quick Travel Bug activity. Thank you for moving this along. Feel free to take a picture of this Zamboni smoothing out the ice in your city!
UPDATE:
The race is over and we came in 5th. We were happy with the outcome. The winner is a good friend of ours and very happy to have the bragging rights. Anyways. MY NEW GOAL is to travel to different hockey venues and caches near them. Fell free to take a picture of me resurfacing the ice in a rind near you. Thanks.
