Just like the story and the 1987 movie with the same title, this Brave Little Toaster is off on a journey. Instead of going off trying to find its owners, this toaster is off to collect stories and pictures along the way about the cachers it encounters and the fun they share together.
Of course, in the spirit of collecting things as in the story of "The Brave Little Toaster", this toaster would also like to collect other travelers that would want to travel together and be stuck together as they find new adventures.
This blue toaster started out in someone's kitchen. Well loved and taken care of, the toaster was most happy. Eventually the owners of the toaster became former owners as they set the toaster out in the cold with hopes that someone else would come along and take him into their loving home. This toaster sat, and sat, and sat. For three days and nights, it rained and the toaster got most sad. Eventually a crazy geocacher decided to take the toaster into his home. Realizing that it sat out in the rain and the electrical wiring should be shot, the crazy cacher cut its cord and decided to give it other life by making it into one big traveling toaster.
Yes, I do realize now that this toaster cannot fit into most caches. It will have to be given from one cacher to the next at cache sites and especially at events.
If you encounter this traveler and its associated coins and things, feel free to discover one, all, or none at all. The choice is yours. In no way are you obligated to take this large traveler with you. As a simple courtesy, please never leave this traveler outside of a cache with hopes for the next cacher to come along. In the time span it could take for that to happen, it could get mistaken as yesterday's garbage. Then, the Brave Little Toaster would be sad again. We all don't want that to happen. Also, this Brave Little Toaster already has sat in the rain, let's not do that to him again. It was shattering enough to his entire self-concept when it happened the first time.
Wanna be part of this traveling conglomeration? Feel free to stick your coin, travel bug dog tag, or even pathtag to this toaster and send me the travel bug number so that I can add that number to this main page. I am recommending 2-Part epoxy/ glue, it is cheap enough and is supposed to hold really well. If for some reason one of the coins fall off in your possession, please try to fix it or hand it off to another cacher that is willing to do just that.
