Current Goal

This coin is being released to help raise awareness of bikes on the road.

Some Situations When Crashes are Most Likely to Occur.

Car making a left turn: A driver is attempting a left turn in front of you.

Riding in a driver's blind spot: You are riding in the driver's blind spot and the driver may not see the motorcycle. Additionally, the driver may fail to adequately check blind spots before changing lanes or making turn.

Hazardous road conditions: Potholes, wet leaves, railroad tracks and other road obstructions may dictate that you take an action that a driver may not or does not anticipate.

Obstructed line of sight: Large vehicles, such as sport utility vehicles, delivery vans, and large trucks may block a motorcycle from a driver's view and you may seem to suddenly appear.

About This Item

Over two-thirds of car-motorcycle crashes are caused by drivers, not by motorcyclists. The driver either does not see the oncoming motorcyclist at all or does not see the motorcyclist in time to avoid a crash.

Make yourself visible to motorists!

This coin is in memory of Todie Phillips of Manitou Beach, MI. He passed away August 12 2008 as a result of a motorcycle accident, he was only 49 years old.

If you can, help us raise awareness of bikers on the roads by releasing a coin of your own!

Retrieved this today, hope to add some miles over the next few weeks. Aiming to go to the Isle of Man, home of the TT motorbike races, soon (providing travel lockdown is lifted) so I hope I'll be able to find a suitable home for it whilst we're there.

At last this TB is back on the road after a long time missing! This lane has some fast drivers on it even though in the country so there will be speedy motorbikes too! Travel on well and safely!

๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ I found this TB in a cache yesterday but it wasn't logged as being there and my first attempts to track it using the code on it didn't work, don't know why. The cacher (supababe) who dropped it off had apparently found it a very long time ago but it stayed in his daughter's kit bag and was forgotten until he found it the other day!! I finally managed to get in touch with usyoopers who own this TB who said it had been missing for two years but they'd seen supababe's log when it was dropped for me to find. So hooray! At last this very smart TB with an important message can go back on the trail again and I will add a photo when I find a good cache to let it ride again!
