Current GOAL: This is our fourth travel bug so I hope you will help us out. For a third grade class project, we are plotting the movements of four travel bugs. We would love this travel bug to move across New Zealand and visit your beautiful countryside. We have a large map that we are going to use to mark their locations. Hopefully, we will learn a little geography along the way. We would love to hear from you too! Maybe a first name, occupation, and anything you would like to share with my third graders. We would love to have a pictures of you or the places it has been placed. Thank You!

Found in a beautiful park in Invercargill NZ. We were closely watched by the Tui birds as we retrieved him. He has travelled with us today to Gore then Alexandra. He is very happy to be out of his box.

Wow, I went for a flying visit to Stewart Island (the southern most permanently populated place in NZ). I couldn't really come to NZ and not go to the best place in the country. Absolutely loved it but it was too cold, and I thought I might be left in the geocach over there for too long, so I come back to the mainland. Stewart Island only has 300 permanent residence on it. Main industries on the island are tourism, salmon and mussel farming and fishing. Most of the island is covered in native forest and is a national park. It is a very beautiful, special place. It has several hundred km's of walking tracks and only 12km of roads. Its is a real nature lovers place great for tramping, fishing and bird watching.

Was pretty happy to find this wee fella warm and happy and dry and full of stories about his previous adventures (boy has he seen some things)! Riverton (where i found him) is on the south coast of the South Island. It is a old fishing village surrounded by lovely beaches, a beautiful big estuary, lush farmland and forest. Because of our location we get dynamic, changable weather,coming up from antartica to the south. We can get 'four seasons in one day' with bursts of rain, hail, wind and sunshine. We do get periods of calmer, warm weather too and these are much enjoyed. Riverton is a great place to live, we are able to explore lots of really cool places only a couple of hours away such as Fiordland National Park, Stewart Island and the Catlins. I wonder where snoopy will go next.....
