Recently Spotted: In White Oak

Current GOAL: Travel across this great continent of ours. This bug is a special one...I picked it up as geoswag from the Helliwell cache during a trip to visit my Dad in Comox, BC, Canada. You can't get much farther west in North America than Vancouver Island (except Alaska, I guess). It combines my two hobbies (sewing and geocaching) and happens to be Canadian like me!

I'm not sure quite how it is occurring, but I caught in error in the mileage for Canada Moose. The listed mileage is 3306.7. If I take the listed mileage for each jump, even the voided one, I'm getting 3037.1. Now, the mileage for one issue is being counted twice. This is when the back and forth logging with regards to the voided cache mentioned below. Because of the dates on the log, it's being logged in and out three times. So 9.8 miles needs to be subtracted due to that (4.9 x 2). Combining another 4.9 and 198.4 gets 203.3. Due to the voiding of that cache, and the redrawn route, subtract another 5.8. That gives a total mileage of 3021.5, which is what my records came to. I'm not sure if it somehow added in another mistake somewhere, but the mileage of 3306.7 is way off. Total mileage, even with the mistakes, should be listed at 3037.1, and that's directly from the numbers Groundspeak lists. Total mileage for the race is 3021.5 Weird, but I felt it should be explained for the purpose of the race calculations.

Official Race Correction Due to problems with the cache "The First Day Of School", and not being able to view the cache page itself, the visit is voided. Redrawn from Windy Sunsetspecial to Can You Hear Me Now #2 with 197.5 miles. Subtracting 5.8 miles from total mileage.

There have been some "technical" difficulties with this cache and this bug has sat long enough. This new location is adjacent to a major north/south highway and should offer the opportunity to collect some miles. Will post a picture if I can work the "help" menu.
