About This Item

Ridge Trail TB

The Bay Area Ridge Trail is a proposed 550+ mile hiking & riding trail along the ridgelines and hilltops circling San Francisco Bay. There are currently more than 330 miles of Ridge Trail open to the public, and preserved for future generations. When complete, the Ridge Trail will connect more than 70 parks and open spaces.

The Bay Area Ridge Trail Council is the non-profit working to plan, acquire, design, build, care for, and promote the Ridge Trail. The Council works in close partnership with agencies and local government, parks, land trusts, and other stakeholders and volunteers to complete the vision of a continuous trail around the Bay Area, for hikers, cyclists and equestrians. Found yesterday on the slopes of Mount Tamalpais. Will bring to another trail nearby — probably next to Berkeley inspiration point!

I gave this TB a little TLC, since it was pretty much just a random assortment of items in a plastic bag when I found it. Today I dropped it off along a stretch of the Bay Area Ridge Trail in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, Sonoma County.

Found this one up in "Where's PALO?". Too bad there's no tag with it anymore - it's just a baggie with a kind of random assortment of things inside. The baggie doesn't close anymore so I'll give it a new one before moving it on. I spend a lot of time on the Bay Area Ridge Trail in the Sonoma area, so I'll find a cache to put it in up there.

Well, I did discover it but it was too wet and slimy to take back down with me. Plus it was raining. This is more of a proxy trackable at this point anyway, since the original seems long gone.
