Lazy Dagros was part of a trackable race to the 2012 Sonoma County GeoRally event. Unfortunately, she was busy grazing elsewhere. Now, she would like to return to Oslo, Norway.
Lazy Dagros was racing Crazy Gjertrud and a bunch of other cows in The Great Cow Tag Race, from the 2011 Sonoma County GeoRally event, California, USA, to the 2012 event. The cows competed in three categories:
-
First check-in at the event
-
Longest journey
-
Most interesting journey
Please help Lazy Dagros visit lots of beautiful nature, and share her photos with us!
If you pick up Lazy Dagros, do not keep her, but leave her in a new cache as soon as possible.
If you take Lazy Dagros to a cache without dropping her, please consider logging her as "visited", so that we can follow her journey.
The purpose of The Great Cow Tag Race is to promote the work of Heifer International, a charity active all over the world. Heifer International provides agricultural stock and knowledge to program participants, who enter into a covenant when selected to “Pass the Gift”: to pass on the first offspring of whatever stock they’ve received (and the knowledge) to someone else in their community. So Heifer International is a true self-replicating charity: a single gift of livestock and knowledge that it gives to a needful person is then replicated and amplified as it is passed on to more and more people in the community. Heifer has literally transformed the landscape of poverty in countries around the world, helping families regain their capacity to live beyond the next meal.

This was definitely one of the most difficult TB retrievals I have ever experienced. This geocoin was at the summit of Mt. Whitney, the tallest mountain in the lower 49 states. We were on the trail for 18 grueling hours.
I noticed one of the race objectives was the most interesting journey. I don't think you can beat moving from the tallest point to the very first cache. I'll drop this at the Original Stash Tribute Plaque which is just 8 miles from my home.
