Tip: Carry more than one type of pen, including one that has a light coloured ink - and a pencil. Not only do pens have a habit of getting lost, sometimes wet logs are hard to write on with certain pens, but others work ok. Some logs are actually on dark backgrounds so a light coloured pen helps make your signature on those logs visible.
