To travel from cache to cache anywhere in the backcountry anywhere in the world. Take me to some of your favourite backcountry destinations.
I am named after the Rev George Kinney who first explored this area alongside explorer AP Coleman back in 1907. George Kinney was the first to spot the lake so AP Coleman named the lake after him. Today Kinney Lake is a popular day hike and is the first of 7 backcountry campgrounds along the popular Berg Lake Trail.
Kinney Lake was where I spent my first night in the backcountry on the Victoria Day long weekend back in 1987. I credit this trip and to my old friend, Herman Stad who first brought me here and introduced me to backpacking that sparked my love for being in the backcountry. I have since been back to hike the Berg Lake Trail almost every May long Weekend since.
This travel bug was placed on the 30th anniversary of my first visit to Kinney Lake.
