When shopping Gloucester I came across this cutie and instantly thought Travel Bug!
So George was born. He is a sad little fellow with a huge frown in his face, so perhaps we can make him smile by taking him on many adventures and by keeping him SAFE and on the move.
He is very happy to out and about anywhere, as long as he is loved and cared for and not forgotten in a dark back pack.
Maybe you could add a photo of George on his adventures and add them to his logs.
Please DO NOT take him to events as far too many bugs have gone to events and then have vanished without trace, thanks.
Geoege is a small ty beanie baby Gorilla. He is as black as night but has the most amazing purple sparkley eyes!
He is attached to a small purple coloured dog tag and a small keyring which give a brief insight into his simple mission. I will add a few details about the Gorilla as general. George though is very special and needs to be treated as such!
Gorillas are ground-dwelling, predominantly herbivorous apes that inhabit the forests of central Africa. The eponymous genus Gorilla is divided into two species: the eastern gorillas and the western gorillas (both critically endangered), and either four or five subspecies. They are the largest living primates. The DNA of gorillas is highly similar to that of humans, from 95–99% depending on what is counted, and they are the next closest living relatives to humans after the chimpanzees and bonobos.
Gorillas' natural habitats cover tropical or subtropical forests in Africa. Although their range covers a small percentage of Africa, gorillas cover a wide range of elevations. The mountain gorilla inhabits the Albertine Rift montane cloud forests of the Virunga Volcanoes, ranging in altitude from 2,200–4,300 metres (7,200–14,100 ft). Lowland gorillas live in dense forests and lowland swamps and marshes as low as sea level, with western lowland gorillas living in Central West African countries and eastern lowland gorillas living in the Democratic Republic of the Congo near its border with Rwanda.
Enjoy helping George on his journey and who knows he may end up actually visiting a jungle somewhere... we can but dream, enjoy WW
