Recently Spotted: In McCartney Creek Cache

Current GOAL: To travel to the Mt. Kilauea Military Camp where they came from and to the Capt. Cook Memorial on the Big Island of Hawaii. From there they are free to roam the world to their heart's content.

About this item:
This Puka Shell necklace was given me when I attended the Great Teacher's Seminar on the top of Mt. Kilauea. I have very fond memories of this seminar. While we were there we also visited the incredible underwater park at the Capt. Cook Monument at Kealakekua Bay. It's accessable by kayak or if you snorkel or scuba from shore. The amazing sites of an active volcano and gorgeous sea life should make these visits more than worth your while. I hope someone can take these shells for a visit home and post the photos.

This is a coincidence. I just made reservations for Kilauea Military Camp for a year from now. I am tempted to hold on to it for a while, but I suspect a year is too long.
