What an awesome part of South Africa to launch a travelbug! My brother and I decided to "quickly" go find the cache in 30 minutes time while the others waited for us at the car. When we first put on the gps on the route, we discovered we were already 350m past the cache. We decided to get the cache on our return from the waterfall. Turns out the waterfall is a total of 35 min brisk walking distance from the parking lot! Wow, did we appreciate the swim in the cold water of the pool beneath the waterfall... The pathway is in the coastal forest just above the rocky coastline.
We were very surprised to find Travelbug nr 450013 - TB Tosch's car. It was launched here only two days before - all the way from Germany!
On the way home (Pretoria), I tried to log a visit to the New Gariep Dam cache (GC6671), but could not find the cache itself. The cache area had a really great view of the dam wall and the river below.
On Saturday 17 Jan 2004 the travelbug will be placed in a cache in the Pretoria area. We might just let Tosch's car visit a few caches here before settling down for the night.
