Going through security George was in on the first experimental planting of fish from the air. They put parachutes on the cans and took them up to 2000 ft. They all survived, but I guess when they reach the age to spawn, they all showed up at the airport.
This was on Lake Washington.

Upper Twin Lakes George spent months here harvesting millions of Cutthroat trout eggs, and rearing them in the eyeing station (until they developed eyes.)They were periodically hauled out by pack horse, then trucked to various hatcheries around the state.
This Lake is still used for that purpose today, albeit with improved accomodations.
