Famous Mathematicians #2: The Bernoulli Family

Each semester my students complete a “History of Mathematics” project. Through these projects we have learned about some pretty interesting mathematicians. This coin is in honor of the Bernoulli Family of Mathematicians, who had eleven members of the family make significant contributions to the development of mathematics. This coin would like to ultimately tour the Bernoulli’s homeland of Switzerland and along the way visit some caches that require some mathematics to complete. The cache Bionicle 2 (GCKZA9) in Switzerland would be a great final destination because it contains some mathematics that the Bernoulli’s would enjoy.
