This is no ordinary geocaching trading item!

Finn, the Replacement Rescue Puppy is a Cachekinz Travel Bug, traveling from geocache to geocache on a very specific mission.

Trackable ItemIf you do not intend to log your visit on the Geocaching.com web site, please DO NOT TAKE THIS ITEM. Its travels and its progress requires you to log that it is being taken from this geocache. You will also need to log when you place it in another geocache. It's easy!

If you are willing to log your part of this Trackable's journey and place it in another geocache as soon as possible (after you log your find), grab it from this geocache.

My Current Goal:

Did somebody say... CAR RIDE?!

Finn the Replacement Rescue Puppy  is a replacement for the original Finn the Rescue Puppy.  Our original lil’ guy was stolen within an hour of his initial drop in Central Park on 3/15/14.  But, we’re not giving up… we are placing Finn #2 with a new tag (same trackable number) somewhere south of home on our road trip to sunny Florida.

The original Finn’s goal and description:

Meet Huckleberry Finn... or, Finn, as we like to call him.  He is the newest member of our family, and this namesake Travel Bug is being set free in celebration of his adoption!  The real Finn is the cutest little nugget... He was a stray, so we had a doggie DNA test done to determine his breed, which turned out to be a mix of Lab/Golden retriever /rottie.  He was found with several other pups wandering the property of a sawmill in Bamburg, South Carolina in November of 2013.  The local sheriff's office brought the puppies to a shelter, where they were discovered to be very ill with parvo, and were scheduled to be euthanized.  A rescue organization in SC intervened, nursed the pups to health, and then worked with transport and rescue shelters to find great homes for all the pups.  Finn was adopted by The Penn Street Gang (and their older dog, Riley) on December 29, 2013, and now resides in York, Pennsylvania.  Since his adoption, we've given him a loving home, and pampered him through bouts of worms, mange, and TEETHING (ugh.), but Finn is now happy, healthy, and growing like a weed!

Finn would like to travel to all fifty states and meet other Rescue animals! Take him on your Geocaching adventures with you, snap a pic of him with your rescue animal, and move him along so that he can continue his journey.

Save a life... adopt a rescue!

DON'T BE A CACHEHOLE:
After recently discovering several of our travel bugs missing, I feel compelled to remind cachers: Trackables are NOT keepsakes. If you don't know how or don't feel like taking possession of them and bringing them somewhere, please leave them for someone who is willing. Seriously. There are some people out there (we call them cacheholes) who feel travel bugs are nifty little souvenirs. They are no more a souvenir than a cache is and you certainly wouldn't take a cache home and put it on your mantle. For many, trackables are a fun enhancement of the game which they invest time, energy and money into.  Trackables often have sentimental value or are placed to commemorate and occasion- taking them without logging them is stealing, and ruins the experience of the trackable for its owner and all who have helped it along its way.
If you don't know how to properly log them or you don't know what to do with them, PLEASE ASK... But never keep a Trackable as a keepsake.
