Farewell to Cosmic Quest
After a final boost of fuel from the geocaching community this past weekend, Cosmic Quest is officially over and our intergalactic friends are headed off on a new adventure in a different galaxy. Over the seven weeks of the challenge, players generated more than 15 million units of fuel by geocaching!
In addition to all of the units of fuel generated, quite a few players also earned the Cosmic Quest souvenirs, including a special secret souvenir that we didn’t publicize during Cosmic Quest.
- 111,205 players earned the Super Fuel Cacher souvenir by generating 20 units of fuel
- 40,829 players earned the Ultra Fuel Cacher souvenir by generating 100 units of fuel
- 18,981 earned the secret Discover the Spaceship souvenir by discovering a special Cosmic Quest virtual trackable
Geocachers around the world also hosted and attended many Events to celebrate and plan for Cosmic Quest, and of course generate fuel. Here are a few snapshots of that fuel generation in action!
Geocachers in Gelsenkirchen, Germany got together at Cosmic Quest 🚀 Treibstoff aus Gelsenkirchen Event Cache (GCAV8EB) to discover trackables and increase the fuel count.
Geocachers in North Dakota put out positive energy at Cosmic Quest – Fuel Up (GCAVTQD). It looks like a visitor from outer space even made an appearance at the Event!
In the Åland Islands, geocachers attended *** Cosmic Quest in Mariehamn *** (GCAVKXM)
Geocachers in Massachusetts got together at an ice cream shop for The Jetson’s: “Cosmic Quest” Fueling Station # 3 (GCATRJZ) and helped fill up our friends’ spaceship’s fuel tank.
Congratulations to the community on achieving the 15 million fuel unit goal and helping our friends from outer space continue discovering and exploring!
