Cosmic Quest may be over, but we still have exciting encounters with our friends from outer space! Travel to the East Midlands for an out-of-this-world Geocache of the Week, THE ALIEN LANDINGS (GC4TV7K).
This is a Bonus Mystery Cache with exciting twists and turns. To begin the journey, searchers must find the required geocaches before seeking this Bonus cache. Visit the cache page and read about the incredible journey of one special spacecraft with seven unique alien species traveling through the galaxy.
While making a routine trip to the Phobos convention, their ship began to spiral out of control. Its course veered dangerously close to the Earth, drawn by our planet’s gravitational pull, and was going to crash.
As the aliens hurriedly made their way to their escape pods, their sole focus was survival. Miraculously, all seven aliens emerged from their crash landings shaken but unharmed. The crucial black box from the Mothership also survived, and now, they’re counting on you to help them locate it!
Anywhere they received a signal, the aliens placed Core Atomic Central Homing Emitting Signalers (CACHES) to mark their trail for any other stranded aliens to follow. These caches emit a unique signal that can be picked up by other aliens’ devices, guiding them to safety. Take note of the specific codes when finding the previous caches to help locate the Bonus. Your role is crucial as you will retrieve and record these coordinates, aiding the aliens in their quest to return home.
Once you’ve found all the missing pieces in the Universal Polar Stereographic (UPS) coordinates, you can at last reach the final to find the black box. The journey will take you to the countryside and the crash site of the Mothership.
Along the way, look for signs of alien life. The final container is a large black container made from PVC pipes and can be found nestled in the tall grass against the rocky hillside.
Bravo! You’ve successfully completed this extraterrestrial journey. After retrieving the black box and aiding the aliens in their return to space, it’s time to bask in the satisfaction of a mission accomplished. You’ve earned a well-deserved break!
