Treasures are here! Plus, two new collections in April!

Treasures are here! Read on to learn more about the game’s newest feature, so you can start your journey to become an expert Treasure collector.

How do I collect Treasure?
You can collect Treasure by finding and logging caches that meet specific criteria set by HQ. Below are the criteria for the first two collections:

Collection 1: Geocaching origins
You can collect these Treasures by finding and logging Traditional Caches.
Collection 2: Celebrating 25 years
You can collect these Treasures by finding and logging any type of geocache with a difficulty rating of 1.5 or lower. If you complete the ‘Celebrating 25 years’ collection, you will earn the ‘Celebrating 25 years’ souvenir.

How much time do I have to collect the Treasures?
The first four collections are not time-limited and are available indefinitely for you to collect at whatever pace works best for you.

Where can I see the Treasure I’ve collected?
There is a link to the Treasures page at the top of the Profile section in the Geocaching® mobile app. Tap the linked image to see available Treasure and Treasures you’ve collected. Similarly, on the website you can visit the Treasures page by going to your dashboard and clicking on “Treasures” in the list below the “View profile” button.

Will more Treasure be available in the future?
Starting April 1, two new collections of Treasures, Navigational tools and Egg hunt, will be available for geocachers to collect when they find and log qualifying geocaches. To access these collections, you must first complete the Celebrating 25 years collection.

Navigational tools
This collection celebrates the tools that explorers have used to navigate the world. The collection features fiveTreasures ranging from an astrolabe to a map.

You can collect these Treasures by finding and logging any Traditional geocache with a difficulty rating of 2 or higher, and a terrain rating of 1.5 or lower.

Egg hunt
This collection highlights seven different geocache types with seven different Treasures. Each Treasure in this collection has different criteria for the geocaches you have to find and log in order to collect the Treasure. The Treasure can be collected in any order:

      • Egg 1: Collect by finding and logging one Traditional Cache with a difficulty rating of 2 or above
      • Egg 2: Collect by finding and logging one Mystery Cache with a difficulty rating of 2 or above
      • Egg 3: Collect by finding and logging one Multi-Cache with a difficulty rating of 2 or above
      • Egg 4: Collect by finding and logging one Letterbox Hybrid with a difficulty rating of 2 or above
      • Egg 5: Collect by attending any regular Event Cache
      • Egg 6: Collect by finding and logging any EarthCache
      • Egg 7: Collect by finding and logging any Virtual Cache

How do I turn off the notification when I collect Treasure?
To turn off the notification, toggle the setting next to “Notify me when I find Treasure in the Geocaching® mobile app” on the Treasures page. Players who turn off notifications will still collect Treasure.

Is Treasure available for Basic members?
Treasure is available to both Premium and Basic members, though some future collections may be Premium-only. The first collections we’re releasing are open to all. Premium members can use Advanced search to find caches that fit collection criteria.

I deleted a log and a Treasure was removed. Why was my Treasure removed?
If a log is deleted, the Treasure collected from that log is removed. To collect the Treasure again, find and log a different geocache that meets the criteria.
