Who doesn’t love a nice, relaxing geocache? A whimsical birdhouse container that promises a quick and easy find.

Well, with this geocache, what you see isn’t necessarily what you get. Delight in the silly surprise with us as we flock to our Geocache of the Week, Bydir’s 10.000ste (GC6XWCC).

According to the cache page, GC6XWCC was placed for a special occasion. To celebrate local cacher Bydir’s 10,000 cache finds, Stipjes team helped to hide a new geocache… with a twist.

This cache may appear unassuming, but if we’ve learned one thing, it’s that a hide doesn’t need to be a Mystery Cache to be devious.

The geocache decor is thematically on-brand, even complete with a bird similar to Bydir’s profile picture. Perched on a piece of wood on one side of the birdhouse, geocachers might mistake this for a quaint, easy find.

They’ll soon realize, though, that this cache is anything but.

This feathery friend seems to have been ‘caching’ supplies in this birdhouse for quite some time. One might expect the sticks and branches birds use for their nests, but there’s another type of cache nestled away somewhere unexpected, ready for you to discover:

Unlatching the bottom of the birdhouse, geocachers might take fright as dozens of identical tubes suddenly fall to the ground below.

This cache is an ‘egg’sellent example of why geocaching isn’t always for the faint of heart.

The most diabolical part of this hide? After this sudden surprise, you’ll realize it’s not over yet! But don’t let that ruffle your feathers.

Geocachers need to check each tube to locate the logbook hidden inside. Only then can they log this cache as Found and fly on to their next geocache.

This Geocache of the Week goes to show that birds of a feather flock together, especially when it comes to creating ingenious cache hides.

Celebrating your accomplishments with your geocaching community only strengthens the nest, leading to some spectacular things.
