Celebrate 25 Years of Geocaching with The GeoGuessr Challenge
We’re excited to announce a limited-time collaboration between Geocaching HQ and GeoGuessr in celebration of a major milestone—25 years of geocaching!
GeoGuessr is an interactive geography game that drops players into random locations around the world using Google Street View. Just like geocaching, players use navigation and deduction skills—aka geo-senses—to pinpoint the location. The closer the guess, the more points they earn. This year, geocachers can once again earn a limited-time souvenir!
From iconic scenic vistas to remote hiking trails, The GeoGuessr Challenge features 25 locations from around the world, many inspired by the early days of geocaching.
As you play, you might notice some familiar places. Please note: The GeoGuessr Challenge doesn’t involve real-life geocaching. Instead, our goal is to showcase memorable locations, invite new explorers to our global community, and—most importantly—inspire future outdoor adventure!
To participate and earn a limited-time souvenir, complete the following steps:
- Create a free GeoGuessr account.
- Play the GeoGuessr Challenge between April 29-May 9 and find the tracking code.
- Discover the code at Geocaching.com before May 9, 2025 to earn a special souvenir.
NOTE: Geocaching HQ gives permission for this trackable to be discovered virtually.
