Along the way, you’ll find creative details and a cache experience that has earned plenty of attention from the geocaching community.

The adventure begins at stage one, where geocachers gather the numbers needed to move on to stage two by visiting the coordinates on the cache page. There will be a micro with numbers inside—take note of all of the numbers, as they are important for the second stage.

For stage two, the numbers you collect in stage one are vital to obtaining the final coordinates. Fill in the blanks in the coordinates provided on the cache page using those numbers. Additional hints can be decrypted on the cache page for further help, if necessary. After that, it’s time to go find the jail.

The final location is more than a container; it’s part set piece, part trackable stop. A famous sheriff stands watch while visiting trackables wait for the next geocacher to move them along.

Every step supports the theme, from deputies and desperados to the trip across town to lock up a trackable for safekeeping. The cache owner also gives clear instructions for visitors: trackables are welcome, but trade items should stay home. That keeps the focus on the cache’s purpose as a stop for trackables.
