Mitch&Becca: Meet the creators inspiring a new generation of geocachers
What happens when two creators discover a worldwide treasure hunt? MitchandBecca grabbed a camera, hit record, and brought the rest of us along for the ride.
Mitchell and Rabecca are growing creators in the geocaching community, known for sharing authentic geocaching adventures filled with laughs, unexpected finds, and plenty of moments that prove not every search goes according to plan. We caught up with them to talk about their journey from first-time finders to geocaching creators, the community they are building, and what keeps them motivated to keep going.
Geocaching HQ: Tell us a little about yourselves outside of geocaching.
We are from a small town in Wisconsin and first met in high school almost five and a half years ago. Aside from geocaching, in our spare time, Mitchell loves to play video games and go fishing, and Becca loves reading and creating videos on her channel (@RabeccaReads). Together, we both share a love for photography, hiking, exploring, traveling, and discovering new adventures. When we aren’t filming, posting, or enjoying our hobbies, we both have full-time jobs—Becca in marketing and Mitchell in merchandising. Someday, however, we would love to make YouTube and traveling a full-time career!

Geocaching HQ: How and when did you first discover geocaching?
In late 2023, Mitchell saw a video that fellow geocacher Hullsome posted about a crazy minion-themed cache. It sparked his curiosity, which led him to research what exactly he saw. When he brought it up to Becca, we downloaded the geocaching app immediately and went out to film our first geocaching video on our channel. Looking back, it really makes us realize how far we’ve come and how much better we have gotten at finding caches.

Geocaching HQ: What made you decide to document your geocaching adventures on YouTube?
When we were younger, we both took a strong interest in creating content, both in our own ways. Mitchell already had a gaming channel that he started in 2020 and encouraged Becca to start her own about books and her life in 2022. Later on, we knew we wanted to start a joint YouTube channel about photography, adventuring, and someday travel, but wanted to wait until our anniversary the following year to add even more meaning to the date. When we discovered geocaching, something clicked for us and just made sense for us to document our journey. The more caches we found, the more people started watching us. We have such a tight community that inspires us with the most positive comments and suggestions. Having this community is our biggest motivator. Being able to connect with other geocachers through our mutual love of finding random items in the woods or in your neighbors’ front yards has been one of our favorite life experiences yet.

Geocaching HQ: What do you enjoy most about finding and filming geocaches?
When we find a cache, we always feel so accomplished and rewarded, not just because we can mark a find on our map, but also just to see people’s creativity that we would have never seen before. When we are filming, we feel as though we’re not speaking to a camera, but rather that our viewers are there with us. We always try our best to be as raw and real as possible in our videos, even if that means showing the fails, the falls, and the tears.

Geocaching HQ: What has been the biggest challenge of growing a geocaching-focused channel, and what keeps you motivated?
So far, one of our biggest challenges has been how to hook people into understanding and taking interest in what geocaching is. We have struggled at times to figure out how to effectively catch people’s attention and introduce our style of content to the world. Even though we are a fairly new channel, we have received an overwhelming amount of positive and just all-around amazing comments from people all over the world. We might be small, but we have created an incredibly tight community of geocachers, adventurers, and people of all ages that watch our videos. Every comment and message keeps us going and pushing to put out the best content we can.
Geocaching HQ: What advice would you give to someone who wants to start creating geocaching content?
The best piece of advice we can give for anyone wanting to be a content creator is to be as real as possible. Viewers want to see your authentic, real reactions and to really get to know you as a person. We always try to live in our raw moments that are unplanned and random. Anything from our off-key singing to our funny fails. If anyone reading this ever meets us in person, we are exactly who we show in our videos.

Geocaching HQ: How and where can people find you and your geocaching content?
