In 2025, we\u2019re celebrating a major milestone\u201425 years of geocaching! To mark this special anniversary, we\u2019re introducing a new hiding theme per quarter to celebrate geocaches published in 2025. Every three months, we\u2019ll feature geocaches from that quarter\u2019s theme on the Geocaching Blog and social media.<\/p>\n

We received so many nominations for our second hiding theme, back to nature, that it was difficult to choose just a few to share!
\nTake a look at some of the caches that we thought were forces of nature:<\/p>\n

For their 27th anniversary, Perez8 honored his wife by building a life-size geocache portrait of her reconnecting with nature (while geocaching, of course). The sculpture is even made from recycled CITO materials!<\/p>\n

Those who live in big cities know that getting back to nature isn\u2019t always easy. With this delightful cache hidden in Toshima City Ikebukuro Forest, visitors can find their own bit of nature paradise in the heart of Tokyo.<\/p>\n

Have you heard the buzz about bees? This simple and creative Mystery Cache teaches geocachers about the European honey bee, leading to the most charming hive we\u2019ve ever seen. Just make sure you choose the right bee to find the logbook!<\/p>\n

Where did all the animals go? After finding the nearby round of Traditional Caches, each with an animal guardian, this cache will lead you to their location where they\u2019re celebrating 25 years of geocaching. We love party animals!<\/p>\n

Those who live in the eastern United States know that every 17 years, they can expect the familiar sound of cicadas returning to nature. In recognition of Brood XIV<\/a>, this beautiful hand-painted cache reminds visitors that it\u2019s cicada season!<\/p>\n

These caches made us want to strap on our hiking boots and get out into nature!<\/p>\n
