2017 has been a fun year for geocaching: we celebrated <\/span>3 Million Active Geocaches<\/span><\/a>, went geocaching around the globe with <\/span>Where\u2019s Signal the Frog\u24c7<\/span><\/a>, and found pirate booty with <\/span>The Lost Treasure of Mary Hyde<\/span><\/a>. But it\u2019s time to start looking ahead.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s make 2018 the best year ever! To get us off to a good start, we\u2019re announcing two new souvenirs: one to celebrate your last cache of 2017, and one to celebrate your first cache of 2018!<\/span><\/p>\n

How can I earn both souvenirs?<\/b><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Find a geocache or attend an event on<\/span> December 31, 2017<\/b> to earn the Last Cache of 2017 souvenir.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Find a geocache or attend an event on<\/span> January 1, 2018 <\/b>to earn the First Cache of 2018 souvenir.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Can you earn two souvenirs for one event if it starts on December 31 and ends on January 1?<\/b><\/p>\n

    Nice try. To earn both souvenirs, you\u2019ll have to submit two different logs for two different geocaches and\/or events, one on each day. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Can I schedule back-to-back events to earn both souvenirs ?<\/b><\/p>\n

    Nope! The geocaching guidelines prohibit event stacking. To avoid event stacking, Event Caches should be separated by time, organized by different geocachers, have a minimum duration of 30 minutes and take place at a different location than other events. Please check out the <\/span>geocaching hiding guidelines<\/span><\/a> for more information about Event Caches.<\/span><\/p>\n
