Ground zero overlooks the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.experienceperth.com\/destination\/swan-river\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Swan River<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an idyllic estuary that contrasts the bustling metropolis of WA\u2019s largest city. Cache owner, creative wizard, and Australia\u2019s highest Favorited hider, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/p\/default.aspx?guid=6da95d70-7176-4fcf-9190-666410d8cfb1&amp;wid=40a2d721-2f85-4c23-b528-0b728280baeb&amp;ds=2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">duck 43<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> located the spot over six years ago. \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was such a lovely location, I simply had to come up with something special. Step aside Harry Potter and Fairy Godmother, this wand consists of a classic, black rod with an <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">attractive<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> special feature (no, not fairy dust). \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I don\u2019t know how I came up with the idea for the mechanism, but I knew I would have to use magnets to open the box<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u201d duck 43 said of their creative process. The wand was specially made for this cache. The cache itself is nestled nearby under a natural, cave-like arch of foliage. It is comprised of an outer box (on which you can cast your spells) that provides protection for the inner Lock &amp; Lock with logbook.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_59999\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-59999\" style=\"width: 656px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-59999\" src=\"https:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/IMG_0849-656x492.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"656\" height=\"492\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d3mo08i005h0zn.cloudfront.net\/blog\/uploads\/2018\/10\/IMG_0849-656x492.jpeg 656w, https:\/\/d3mo08i005h0zn.cloudfront.net\/blog\/uploads\/2018\/10\/IMG_0849-300x225.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 656px) 100vw, 656px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-59999\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image by duck 43 &#8211; the container can be seen under a cave-like structure in the brush<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Geocachers can proclaim <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0CEOotN4Px4\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alohomora!<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> if they wish to astound young wizards with \u2018sorcery\u2019 in opening this cache, but the components all conform to the laws of physical science. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt is quite simple really. A magnet moves across, like a latch, and prevents the lid from opening. By sliding a magnet on the outside, it would move another one on the inside which would move into a position to become a locking bolt. It has been muggled a couple of times but generally not badly and I have been able to fix it. . .The favourable logs help to keep me motivated<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">!\u201d <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">T<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he attention garnered this cache with over 200 Favorite points, the current leader in Western Australia.
