Using this filter makes it easy to see which geocaches stand out from the rest and are community favorites.

But how exactly does filtering for Favorite points change my usual search for geocaches? We’re glad you asked! For a specific example, let’s take a look at what a cache outing in London looks like when you use this Premium feature. London is a big city with a lot of geocaches. Even for local geocachers it can be difficult to narrow down a search when there are so many to choose from. Of course there are popular caches hidden at big attractions and landmarks, but it’s tough to look at the map and pick out caches that will take you to tucked away hidden gems. With the filter for Favorite points, this becomes much easier.

We set the filter to show only caches with a minimum of 200 Favorite points and were able to easily pick out these five hidden gem caches that give cachers a different look at this famous city.

Last Delivery (London) GCGBGB
This cache with over 500 Favorite points is in a peaceful little park that was once a graveyard. The park is right in the middle of some major tourist attractions and provides a lovely spot for a moment of rest and a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Reflections of Neal’s Yard GC2AYKM
Neal’s Yard is a colorful alley in London lined with charming shops and restaurants. Because the alley is removed from the main walking streets, this bright spot in the city could be easily missed by those who don’t know to look for it. However, after filtering by Favorite points in the Geocaching® App, it’s clear that this alley and the geocache hidden there are not to be missed.

Father Thames & The Mermaid (AS TIDES GOES BY) GC3KG2M
This is a cache fit for thrill-seekers. GC3KG2M earns the title of hidden gem not only because it shows cachers a different experience and perspective, but also because it is literally hidden when the River Thames is at high tide. Cachers must head down to the banks of the river to find this cache. It is recommended to go at low tide, when this underwater cache is easier to see and it is easier for finders to avoid getting wet.

The British Library GC2M0AF
The British Library is an awe-inspiring center of knowledge, history, and research. It’s also the home of a multi-cache with more than 1700 Favorite points! This cache takes its seekers on a tour in and around the library to see fascinating art and artifacts as they collect the information to put together the final coordinates.

Space Invader (NOT 24/7. TB Hotel.) GC7QEJJ
This geocache is a multi-stage Letterbox Hybrid with plenty of space for trackables—a real rarity! The final coordinates for this cache are in a unique space and the cache itself has a fun mechanical feature. If you search for this one, make sure to bring trackables to drop.

Have you ever filtered your geocache search by a certain number of Favorite points?
