As many geocachers have said before, \u201cWow! But what\u2019s next?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the world of trackables can be intimidating, there\u2019s no need to worry. We\u2019ve assembled the definitive beginner\u2019s guide to trackables so you know just what to do!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is a trackable?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/help\/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&amp;id=30&amp;pgid=146\">trackable<\/a> is a moveable item within the game of geocaching which travels from geocache to geocache. Trackables appear in many shapes and sizes and are different from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/blog\/2018\/05\/the-difference-between-swag-and-trackables\/\">other SWAG items<\/a> you may find within a geocache.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each trackable includes a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/help\/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&amp;id=30&amp;pgid=161\">six-digit code<\/a> somewhere on the item. This code is unique to the trackable and tracks its specific journey around the world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trackables are most commonly seen within Traditional Caches, Multi-Caches, and at Event Caches. This helps the owner of both the trackable and the geocache know that everything is a-ok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How can I view past travels of the trackable?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the trackable webpage, next to \u201cTracking History,\u201d select \u201cView Map.\u201d This will provide an exact map of the trackable\u2019s journey so far. Each trackable\u2019s mission is different; they can range from specific goals such as \u201cTake me to Japan\u201d or broad goals such as \u201cHelp me see the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After you find the perfect geocache for the trackable, place the trackable inside the cache, and log that you have <strong>Dropped<\/strong> it.
