Would defiantly recommend taking the shoreline one way and coming back along the locks and old building. Try to make it early in the morning or another "non tourist" time as it great to have the place to yourself.

			Distance: 2 miles Trails/bushwacking/terrain: on trail Distance: 10 miles, but do the loop for 12 Will I get my feet wet?: Nope Parking cords: N 38° 56.099 W 078° 19.199 Location of trail maps: (visit link) Best entry point: right next to parking Place to eat/snack after: N 38° 54.799 W 078° 05.999, just a gas station, but they have a grill and some other good stuff Other caches on the way: 3 others on the loop plus make sure to solve space invaders before you go Other stuff: This is a great hike and well worth the long drive from DC. There is something beautiful about it even when not looking out from the countless vista (I think it may be the lack of car noise in the background). I took the fire road down, but next time may cut back over on the gray trail. Would be nice to have kept it all on trail.
