GC1XE7P Earthcache Albertkanaal - Albertcanal
  Maastricht b
At the basis is a thick package of limestone – also called ‘marl’ – from the Late-Chalk and Early- Tertiary era (70–60 million years old). Above is a layer of sand from the Middle-Tertiary era(35-30 million years old). In this chalkless sand cords of small rolled flint stones are present here and there, the so-called ‘potatoes’. Next on top of the sand is a package of gravel which measures 13 to 20 ft, created some 550.000 years ago during an ice age by what used to be the river Maas. The upper layer is Löss, used as raw material for making bricks.

To log this cache you must take a picture of someone of your team on the stone chair near the canal and answer this questions:

1. What is the name of the famous fossil the was found here?
2. What is the colour of the upper layer?

GC23NZB Traditional Cache Bahkauv - das Kätzchen will doch nur spielen ...
  Aachen
Bahkauv - a tiny kitten just wants to play ...
pretty small - you'd better look for a nano ...
A small but steep Aachen square bears the memorial of another original - the Bahkauv (Calf of the Creek)
The legend reports that this monster dwelled in the sewers of the bathing houses in the vicinity. Late at night, when the sometimes drunken citizens of Aachen rolled home from the pub, the Bahkauv came up from its underworld home to scare them by jumping on their shoulder. The legends also tell about many a purse reported missing the other day - for sure, the Bahkauv must have taken it ...
Today's "fountain" suits the small square well at the Büchel street (Büchel means hump) right in the middle of Aachen - since 1967. Steaming hot water runs out of Bahkauv's tail. It was designed by Kurt Wolf Börries upon an initiative of "De Bahkäuvjere", an Aachen carnival company. The first memorial was completed in 1904 by Karl Krauß, professor for sculpture and design at RWTH Aachen Uni

Through shooting and lead a water-filled channel in the table, we checked whether the table was perfect level. Then one could look through two slits across the water and look in the distance a point was selecting exactly the same rate. A small, fast cache-between in Aachen.
27. August 1989:
In the Wirichsbongardstr. is in the presence of the new OB Malangré Crucifixion "Henger Herrjotts Fott" unveiled and inaugurated.

A very simple micro-cache.
I have already raised even some caches in Aachen, which are hidden near prominent statues. Therefore, it surprised me that there is still no one is hiding. This I have with the cache itself taken in hand.
If you linger a little longer in Aachen, and perhaps even want to go shopping there, you will find just behind the cache a centrally located parking garage.
