Grand Union Canal Series (shared, public)

As the name suggests, this is a series of caches along the Grand Union Canal.

The series started off with caches placed by me (Alibags) through Berkhamsted on the Hertfordshire stretch of the canal, but has now expanded with the welcome addition of caches placed by other teams further afield. I have also linked up other existing caches on the GU canal as and when I spot them (If you have a GU cache that you would like linked in that I have not spotted, please let me know and I will do so).

There are good road and rail links along the line of the canal, so it is possible that sections could be walked or cycled and then the train caught back to the start.

There is an interactive map of the canal to be found at this link (visit link) ( and the website also contains much other interesting and useful information.

GCPQ6E Unknown Cache "A Weighty Vulpine turns the key?"
A puzzle cache by Starz-bars located near Market Harborough, which you have to solve in advance before your caching trip. I have no idea where the final is, but the owner asked for the cache to be included in the GU series, so I guess that's a big clue ;-)
