Mr. Stan Thorpe's favourite geocache hides from all around the Granite Belt. Be them a numbers run, a great view, a special container or a challenging hike, Stan loves them all. If you want to be picky, feel free to use this list of the best to help plan your trip to the QLD 2015 Stanthorpe Mega-Event! (GC4X31B) This list will be used to feature a 'Geocache of the Week' on our facebook page

GC3TWR9 Traditional Cache A.S. 1
  The first of the massive AS powertrail hidden by a collaboration of local geocachers between Warwick and Stanthorpe. There's plenty of icons to hunt down with almost 200 in the series!  

GC1F5GC Traditional Cache aaarrgh! pirates castle!
  A well formed path from Castle Rock Camping area will lead you to this gem in Girraween National Park. Keep your eyes open for the granite tunnel and other formations along the way and don't forget your camera for the excellent views across the park.  

GC4YPG2 Unknown Cache An 'Average' Challenge
  This was the first Challenge Geocache on the Granite Belt. As well as requiring a unique qualifying criteria, it is hidden in an interesting and historic location. You'll have to do your homework to earn a rewarding smiley here.  

GC56NZ2 Traditional Cache Apple
  This is a mighty unique container and certainly encapsulates the Stanthorpe area in one simple gesture. Get out and find it quick, before Stan grabs it and runs!  

GCRKP9 Traditional Cache Aztec Temple
  This is a hide along the road less travelled. You'll need to go bush or follow a 4WD track from near the Underground Creek to get to this geocache. And then it is tucked away among a massive outcrop of rugged granite tors and boulders.  

GC44A99 Earthcache Bald Rock
  This earthcache will take you on an informative journey starting at the information signs in Wallangarra and then for a picturesque walk up the largest exposed granite surface in the southern hemisphere. Don't forget to sign the visitors book at the summit!  

GC39Q2N Multi-cache Bald Rock
  This multicache will take you for a circuit hike around Bald Rock National Park, all the way to the summit of the dome, an altitude of almost 1300m with views as far as Main Range. Remember to record all the clues to find the final geocache outside the National Park Boundary. A recommended spot to view the sunset on a clear day.  

GC43FNM Traditional Cache Basket Swamp Falls
  Gaz'n'Kab have done a great job with this hide in taking you to a place that you would definitely not find out about otherwise. A long dirt road leads deep into the State Forest so you can discover a secluded waterfall. Go for a wander around the creek and right up to the falls. Get wet, get lost, go geocaching!  

GC5ER1M Multi-cache Biking in Broadwater
  Broadwater Conservation Park is perfect for the off-road biker. If you want to get pedalling, or maybe just go for a walk around this glorious 10km circuit, then make sure you grab the few waypoints necessary for this multicache.  

GCWNZH Traditional Cache BILL'S BOX
  From the Mount Norman carpark, follow the rock cairns off the beaten track and across exposed granite slabs to this ammo box hidden on a spot height which offers magnificent views and seclusion to only the most fortunate.  

GC3Q5TT Multi-cache Boonoo Boonoo Falls
  One of the jewels in the Granite Belt crown. Follow the dirt road from Mt Lindesay Road into the National Park and be rewarded with seeing the river plunge over 200m into the gorge below. There is natural swimming holes and lots of rocks to hop around. An interesting place to visit for a picnic or longer.

  Some places are just plain forgotten about. This straight-forward mystery geocache guides you through a long lost cemetery just over the border. If you've got a little time to spare, come here and go for a wander through memories of long ago. And hopefully get a smiley too!

  Are you driving from Brisbane to Stanthorpe? Then play a game of I Spy on the car trip down and earn this smiley to boot! There are clues hidden all along the Cunningham Highway that will lead you to a lovely park in Warwick. Perfect for keeping the kids entertained!  

GC56R2N Unknown Cache Easter Egg
  Are you up for a mental challenge? Ready to go on an Easter Egg hunt? Prepare to dodge plenty of red herrings while you work through this puzzle, the most difficult on this list!  

GC2TDFC Traditional Cache Fruit Run No. 1 - The Start
  This is it! The first powertrail in Stanthorpe. Start here, follow the Fruit Run north and around some of the best wineries and fruit farms in Australia. Each hide is unique and there is plenty to see while grabbing the 38 in this series!  

GC1JWE9 Traditional Cache Gateway to Gordon Country
  Just off the Cunningham Highway to break up a long drive from Brisbane is this wonderfully built hide. A rest area nearby and the gateway to the Goomburra section of Main Range, this geocache is a quick grab and a unique container.  

GC3M7CD Traditional Cache Ghost Gate
  Just off the highway.. down a dirt road.. tucked away in the pages of history.. is a place called the Ghost Gate. Intricate artwork, information boards, a story and a geocache await you if you choose to make the detour to this place.

  Do you want a challenge? Do you love earthcaches? Are you ready to commit a lot of time and effort to a smiley? Then load this listing into your GPSr, strap on your hiking boots and learn all about the granite in Girraween National Park. This most rewarding experience will even take you past a few other easier to grab icons along the way.  

GC38AWF Multi-cache Girraween Stone Cottages
  Girraween is a National Park now, but it wasn't always. Hidden among the thousands of trees and millions of boulders are forgotten remnants of civilisation, homes and farms of long ago. Head to the waypoints here and see what is left and think about harder times of years gone. It's not even a very long walk!  

  Feel like going for a bicycle ride? Then this multi that is the final for a series of sweetly themed, well thought out geocaches along the area's best bike path is for you. Keep an eye out for clues and take plenty of water to make it all the way through!
