These are some nearby caching and hiking opportunities. I am often emailed about the best hikes in Northern AZ. Well these are some of them and you can grab a cache as well. These are best viewed using Google Earth KML.

Please bring plenty of water, sunscreen, snacks when attempting these. It is very dry up here in the summer and dehydration has a way of sneaking up on you. Take frequent breaks as the high altitude has a way of catching up to you after a mile or two. Always tell someone where you are going and when you will be back. Cell phone service on the majority of these are spotty at best. They don't call them the woods for nothing.

Most important of all use the pack in pack out mentality. Keep the forest looking like a forest instead of a dump. Make the cache site look like it did when you got there. Replace rocks and logs as found. Don't tear the area up, enjoy it through caching.

  Local AZ landmark. A must do for every Arizonan. Bring extra batteries and extra flashlights and a fleece cause it is cold. Make sure to shut off the lights at the back and experience total darkness.

  Nice hike on a local urban trail system. Good 2 mile walk.

  Be ready for this one. A summer only hike with no air but wonderful views of AZ. Be careful during the monsoon season.

  Nice little hike around Marshall lake.

  Short little hike on top of Observatory Mesa.

  Nice short hike on the Arizona Trail. Keep going after for better views.  

GCPAJP Unknown Cache Galaxies Among the Pines [a night cache]
  Great night hike on a local urban trail system (FUTS).

  Nice little multi starting at a local Flagstaff school.

  Be ready for this one. A summer only hike with no air but wonderful views of AZ. Be careful during the monsoon season.

As a local guide book says, "get as high as a hippie in a helicopter". You are at the top of the state to finish this one.

  Nice short hike at the base of Mt. Elden  

GC14AFB Traditional Cache Kelp forests of Avalon
  I am sure there are trails nearby but we don't need no stinking trails. This is a very intriguing cache. Definitely not for the newbie.  

GCG89M Traditional Cache KENDRICK ROCKFALL
  Probably the hardest hiking geocache I have ever done. No trail so you have to use your best woods wits on this one. Lots of log hopping.

  Nice short hike with nice views. Leaves from the back of a local camp ground.  

GCJPZF Multi-cache Mt. Elden Walkabout
  Nice hike on top of Mt. Elden with views of the Doney Park area.  

GC12CZN Earthcache Old Caves Crater
  One of several caches in a wonderful area.

  Nice up hill hike with great views of the peaks at the top.

  Nice hike under the pines. Very interesting area.

  Nice uphill hike. Neat place.
