"Twin Peaks"
Public
The “loopy, brooding, and surrealistic” television show “Twin Peaks,” which premiered April 8, 1990, became a solid hit with the American public much to everyone’s surprise especially the Network. The show topped all shows in the 1990 Emmy nominations with fourteen. “Twin Peaks” itself was nominated as best drama series. The show was voted television program of the year by the Television Critics Association. The show was cancelled April 1991. Much of the imaginary, quaint Northwestern town of Twin Peaks is really Snoqualmie, Washington, an actual logging town about 25 miles east of Seattle. Other locations are in North Bend and Fall City, just minutes from Snoqualmie on Hwys 202 and 203. I watched the premier episode. I decided not to watch the show as it was too confusing. And then Newsweek published a tongue-in-cheek flow chart that traced the complex relationship among all the characters, living and dead, in the small-town of Twin Peaks. I was hooked!
