This bookmark list serves as a memorial to the geocachers who have died while participating in the sport they loved. This is not a complete list. I have found a few references to others, but not enough info to determine the person's name or the geocache. In a few cases below, I did determine the cache but not the geocacher's handle. If you can fill in that blank, or know of other geocachers who died while geocaching, please email me.

		GCKCHK	_Unknown geocacher - Another Day At The Office
			On March 13, 2017 a geocacher died after falling 20 meters down a ravine while searching for this cache.
		GCHVCH	billzjeep - Douglas #18 Trappers Trail
			On March 6, 2004, billzjeep and jeeperz1&2 were First-To-Find this cache. Bill died of a heart attack on the trail to the next cache.
		GCV5CQ	Chefhiker - Sawmill Cache on the French Creek
			On April 10, 2006, Chefhiker died of a heart attack while hiking to find a cache. The cache he was attempting is unknown; this is the last cache he logged the previous day.
		GC5HW8Y	Chrysostom - WW I
			On August 1, 2015, Chrysostom was looking for a mountain cache when he fell. His body was found just 50 meters from his car.
		GC4MRFH	d3vil - Poço do Mouro ( Rio Cabril )
			On May 9, 2015, d3vil died while canyoning to get to this terrain 4.5 cache.
		GCD	ECM41 - GCD Geocache
			On August 17, 2014, ECM41 (Eric McDonald) suffered a heart attack while hiking to this cache. Despite more than an hour of CPR, Eric died on the trail before paramedics could reach him.
		GC3PXG1	gncaz - Chuck's Last First
			On July 7, 2012, gncaz (Chuck Mettille) was First-To-Find this cache at 11:11am. Sadly, he never made it back to his car. Fellow geocachers found his car later that evening and many of them set out on foot to find him. His body was found after midnight. The cache was later upgraded and renamed in his memory.
		GCHWR0	k123anderson - Running on Empty
			On November 16, 2009, k123anderson (Stuart Anderson) was looking for this cache when he slipped and fell off a 100-foot cliff.
		GCPMAF	Kwesi Sample - Treasure Island
			On May 14, 2013, 21-year-old Kwesi Sample (unknown handle) drowned while trying to swim to this cache from Holden Beach. His body was revovered a few days later. Meanwhile, 1,700 people honored Sample's memory.
		GC28P25	Txoilgas - I See Dead People...in Ft. Cobb
			On January 28, 2012, Txoilgas (Alan Stricklin) was alone on a caching trip in Oklahoma where he pulled over to the side of the road while driving between caches. Either he wasn't feeling well or he was going to take a nap. He never woke up. This is the last cache he logged. Then he was on his way to Albert Cemetery.
		GCQ18B	Unknown geocacher - Bietschtalbrigga
			In May 2010, a geocacher died while searching for this cache. I have no information about the cause, but looking at the terrain rating and pictures, it's not hard to imagine something going wrong.
		GC3JAJH	Unknown geocacher - Duivelse projectieboom
			On September 13, 2012 a geocacher fell and died while attempting to find this cache which was hidden in a tree.
		GC3NMG7	Unknown geocacher - Hold til venstre
			On October 22, 2013, a cacher died of hypothermia while attempting to swim to this cache on a marker bouy approximately 150 meters (500 ft.) offshore.
		GC37G4T	willimax - Tanzstunde
			On December 16, 2011, Willi of Team willimax was killed while attempting this cache when he fell from a pipe that crosses 20 feet above a small river.
