It's all antimony13's fault, really.

She told me she was on a quest to pick up caches in 25 different counties. I thought she was crazy. I mean, naturally, I thought she was crazy... but in this case, even more so. But then, I started thinking how it might be nice to go on a multi-county caching run to mark 400 total finds... and it was at this point I realized I had "caught" the crazy.

Confound you, antimony13.

My caching run to 500 involved the "last" county, as I cached from Key Largo to Key West.

Last stop: GCTVT8. And then, after that, rest. Lots of rest. It's all antimony13's fault, really.

Results per page:

X   GC Code Cache Name

GCWQ5M Traditional Cache #01: GCWQ5M ("Doctor's Pass" in Collier County, FL)
This was the first cache I worked with the new Garmin GPSMAP 76CSx... so it was fitting to add to the list.

Found 23-June 2006.

GCQM59 Unknown Cache #02: GCQM59 ("FL - Sitting Ducks" in Lee County, FL)
There were many good caches to represent Lee County on the list. This one is a nice puzzle cache which requires some though, located in a great geocaching playground.

Found 14-July 2006.

GCR990 Traditional Cache #03: GCR990 ("Like Shooting Fish In A Barrel" in Charlotte County, FL)
#8 of a 20 cache run through Port Charlotte. While any within the Tea Street geocaching playground would have represented Charlotte County well, this nearby cache had the creativity and innovation to stand above the other caches of the day.

Found 22-July 2006.

GCTCFK Traditional Cache #04: GCTCFK ("MoLaNapa Beyond Brigham's Berms" in Pinellas County, FL)
#2 of 14 caches on a run through Pinellas County... and #2 of 10 owned-and-operated by Yuzawa Kat. I could never create a list of qualifiers for the South Florida Challenge Quest without including one of hers.

Besides, if I didn't, any upcoming "If Ida Flossmoor" cache deployment would probably feature a pill fob hanging from the back of a "SLOW DIP" sign.

I have plenty of Pinellas County cache finds dating back to 2004, but none which qualified under the terms of the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Found 5-August 2006.

GC6C71 Traditional Cache #05: GC6C71 ("Lost In LaBelle" in Hendry County, FL)
"He met Marmalade down in old New Orleans
Strutting her stuff on the street..."

Cache in LaBelle: quote a LaBelle song. Okay... so the lyrics don't apply (as opposed to the Monroe County caching run, in which I was approached by no less than five... ahem... ladies of the night).

#1 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCM8R4 Traditional Cache #06: GCM8R4 ("Beat 'em and Brag" in Glades County, FL)
#2 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCVZ2H Traditional Cache #07: GCVZ2H ("Blue Bayou" in Highlands County, FL)
#3 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Alas, Linda Ronstadt was nowhere to be seen.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCNHM0 Traditional Cache #08: GCNHM0 ("Tree of Knowledge" in DeSoto County, FL)
#4 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCCAEF Traditional Cache #09: GCCAEF ("Pioneer Park Cache" in Hardee County, FL)
#5 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCWEJD Traditional Cache #10: GCWEJD ("Medi Cache #2" in Polk County, FL)
#6 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Not as bad as the difficulty level suggests. Rarely can you go wrong deploying an ammobox cache.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCJA5T Traditional Cache #11: GCJA5T ("Yee Haw!: Jackasses Crossing" in Osceola County, FL)
#7 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Beware the chickens. Don't go around telling people you haven't been warned. The chickens will bring you hardship and DOOM.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCJA53 Traditional Cache #12: GCJA53 ("Piney Wood Rooters" in Okeechobee County, FL)
#8 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

One of many good ammocan hides.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCM7RP Traditional Cache #13: GCM7RP ("Fellsmere Farms" in Indian River County, FL)
#9 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Spiders everywhere... but an ammocan is always good for a happy ending.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCT123 Traditional Cache #14: GCT123 ("the old oak tree" in Brevard County, FL)
400th overall find... and #10 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

A nice long walk through a park on the verge of becoming Brevard County's southernmost geocaching playground.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCWTPH Traditional Cache #15: GCWTPH ("Searching for Treasures" in Saint Lucie County, FL)
#11 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCJQW7 Traditional Cache #16: GCJQW7 ("Not Bad but Rotten......" in Martin County, FL)
#12 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCVQR5 Traditional Cache #17: GCVQR5 ("Hitting the Wall" in Palm Beach County, FL)
#13 of a 13 cache run to procure 13 new counties for the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Found 11-August 2006.

GCQ94J Traditional Cache #18: GCQ94J ("I-75 NorthBound [...] TB Motel" in Hillsborough County, FL)
#1 of a 22 cache run to pick up Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, and Pasco Counties.

I have plenty of Hillsborough County cache finds dating back to 2004, but none which qualified under the terms of the South Florida Challenge Quest.

Found 19-August 2006.

GCNTBQ Traditional Cache #19: GCNTBQ ("Beautiful Swimmer" in Hernando County, FL)
#13 of a 22 cache run to pick up Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, and Pasco Counties... and #11 of an 18 cache run through the Withlacoochee geocaching playground.

This one was the highlight of the day based upon innovativeness and creativity.

Found 19-August 2006.

GCH2FR Traditional Cache #20: GCH2FR ("I-75 Southbound Travel Bug Hotel" in Pasco County, FL)
#21 of a 22 cache run to pick up Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, and Pasco Counties.

This is the only cache in 500+ finds to date in which a full compliment of lingerie was located in close proximity to the cache site (quite tame compared to being approached by five "ladies of the night" in Monroe County).

Found 19-August 2006.
