This cache is a 30 cal ammo can located in the Taconic-Hereford Multiple Use Area known locally as the 909 Tyrell, area has multiple mile long stretches of single tracks connected by carriage trails as well as a fire road. It is used for snowmobiling in the winter and bike riding most other months.
This cache is located at the Taconic Hereford Multiple Use Area which is just off of the Taconic State Parkway on the Northbound side, it can be accessed from either direction however. Parking for this cache can be found at the end of Tyrell Rd (the signs will say Dead End)at N41.44.801 W 073.45.621, but if you have a vehicle that doesn't mind a little rough road, you can drive along the fire road to get slightly closer to the cache, just be sure to park in desinated parking areas.
The 909 is popular during hunting season though so be careful and wear Blaze Orange should you visit between Oct and Dec.
There are other caches in the area including Tyrrell, Not Another Rock Wall Micro In the Woods, Here For D Cache, & Fort Tyrell so you can make an afternoon of it.
The cache's original contents include some general swag, cards, keychains, cool toys, a pez dispenser or two, there is also a camera in the cache so be sure to take your picture and as it fills up they will be posted on the site as well.
This area was the very first place Can't Find Diddly ever tried geocaching at, and as she is very partial to old remnants of buildings including chimneys, it was only logical that this cache was placed in this specific area, placing it closer to the chimney wasn't possible however, as it appears to be visited fairly often! Good luck!
