Geocache Description:

Cache container is a diabetes test strip container partially camo'd with electrical tape.

This is a series of 11 caches. The first 10 caches are micros while the last cache is an ammo can. Each micro is a separate cache and contains information needed to find other micros in the series and the final cache itself. In order to be successful when searching for these caches you will need to do some basic research on the internet, know how to use a compass, and have access to at least the free version of “Google Earth” or a similar program.

The first six caches in the series are located at their posted coordinates and each contains partial information needed to find caches 7, 8, or 9. Caches 7, 8, and 9 each contain partial instructions needed to locate cache number 10. Cache number 10 contains directional instructions needed to find the final cache. Caches 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 WILL NOT be located at their posted coordinates. Unless you come very well equipped this series will probably require two visits to the area.

Step 1: Internet research
The information in caches 1 thru 6 are partial coordinates to caches 7, 8, and 9. The information in each of these 6 caches is written in one of 3 different number systems and must be converted before it can be used to locate the next caches. You must first determine what 3 number systems are being used, and become familiar with them, by researching the following clues:
Number system #1 was developed and used by a well known Mesoamerican civilization that flourished primarily between 300AD and 900AD and was adept at naked-eye astronomy and the use of calendars.
Number system #2 was developed and used by a well known civilization of North Africa. This system was used from about 2500BC until about 200BC and was derived from another popular pictorial system used primarily in carved or painted inscriptions. Number system #2 is a cursive system and was well suited to the use of ink and papyrus.
Number system #3 is a modern number system consisting of just two unique digits and is the foundation of all electronics.

Step 2: After determining what the 3 number systems are you must use your newly obtained knowledge to convert the information contained in caches 1 thru 6. Each cache contains a log and an information strip which indicates the number of the destination cache and the information to be converted. Convert the information within the parentheses and record it. Please leave the information strip in the cache ! Once you convert the information contained in caches 1 thru 6 you will have the coordinates for caches 7, 8, and 9. It may also be prudent for you to hold on to any conversion cheat sheets you might manufacture.

Step 3: Caches 7, 8, and 9 each contain a log and an information strip. Once you have located these caches you must record the instructions on the strips. Please leave the information strip in the cache ! Follow the instructions to determine the location of cache number 10.

Step 4: Cache number 10 contains a log and an information strip. The information strip contains compass bearings to the final cache. Please leave the information strip in the cache !

The final cache’s original contents are a logbook, 3 travel bugs, a selection of safety program promotional items, 3 wonderful CDs (Motown #1 hits, Best of Starship, and Carly Simon’s greatest hits), a widescreen version of the 2005 edition of War of the Worlds on DVD, and other odds-n-ends. Now who could refuse trying to find this pile of goodies, eh !??!!?? No one I know !!! WOW !!!

We are not including any hints for this series. However, if you become hopelessly stuck or confused, you can send us an e-mail for a gentle nudge in the right direction.

We hope you all have fun learning about these other number systems as well as searching for the caches. Happy caching to all of you !!!!!!!!
