cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,
Cervis Venator Volunteer Cache Reviewer

Geocache Description:

Anax imperator is the Latin name for the Emperor dragonfly. Anax is a Greek word which can be interpreted as high king. Imperator was a title given to military commanders after an especially great victory. It is also the origin to the word emperor. Such a name can only be given to a real bigshot in the insect world.

Anax Imperator is also a sculpture by Olav Orud. At first sight it looks like a piece of abstract art. The artist says it symbolizes an insect which flew from mount Fløyen and crash landed at Nygårdstangen. Have a look at the sculpture, and judge it yourself. The local synth goth band Anax Imperator took its name from this sculpture.

Under the dome behind the sculpture, is a van de Graaff generator built about 1950 (rebuilt in 1959, after a fire in 1956). The van de Graaff generator has been used for experiments in nuclear physics at the University of Bergen.

The cache is hidden near the sculpture. It is a micro cache with log and pencil only. No trade please.
