Geocache Description:

The Lee-Kay Family Educational County Forest is provided for your enjoyment by John and Mary Heisler of Fond du Lac, WI. They donated the forest to the citizens of Pierce County to share the family stewardship of the property with future generations. The vision of this forest property is to provide public recreation land for outdoor recreational activities and serve as an outdoor classroom for forestry educational instruction. Over 15 different species of trees have been identified along the hiking trail through this 40 acre parcel – take time to read the signs as they provide some interesting tidbits of information. Plenty of wildlife can be seen throughout this area as well.

The coordinates bring you to a nice parking area and signs describing the forest property. The Final coordinates can be found at:

N44 49.ABC

W092 20.DEF

Where:

A = Second digit of year land was patented

C = Second digit of year of Ole Lee’s death

D = First digit of year then land was donated/established in Pierce County

E = Last digit of year land was patented

Take the trail that starts near the signs – the location of the final is not too far off. Please note the forest area is open sunrise to sunset only. Enjoy!
